On Monday, Year 6 travelled to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Southwark as part of a six-part series of workshops to introduce the pupils to the richness of Shakespeare’s legacy. This engaging day commenced on the stage of the theatre where the pupils were able to experience the thrill of performing on this revered stage, on whose boards many a famous actor has stood reciting the bard’s famous lines. The remainder of the day was spent in the rehearsal rooms of the theatre, where a professional actor began the task of introducing all to ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ with exciting theatrical activities. This will continue throughout the remainder of this term, with weekly workshops back at school.
