On Wednesday morning, the Year 6 parents joined us for an Open Classroom. It was a pleasure to see the girls confidently and proudly showcase their work to such an enthusiastic and receptive audience. The girls have already created many impressive pieces of work this year, ranging from evocative creative writing pieces about emotional encounters with animals, to some really beautiful self-portraits. This class are so engaged in their learning, and it is clear to see that support from parents plays a critical role in this. The girls are already looking forward to the next opportunity to show off their work! In just one week, they will have completed the 11+ Consortium test and Christmas celebrations will begin!

On Wednesday 22nd November, the parents of Year 6 were waiting patiently for their children, ready to see the work that they had done over the past ten weeks.  The parents were intrigued when we led them up to the classroom and began to show them what we had been working on.

From Dulce et Decorum Est in English to learning about religious symbols in RE, they were in awe of our work.  My favourite part was showing my mum my portrait I drew in art when we were learning about exploring identity.  My mum was very pleased with how much hard work I have put into all my subjects.  After showing her my books, we still had time before the Open Classroom concluded, so Wylder, Maud, Arianna and I gave my mum a tour around our classroom.  Sadly, our last Open Classroom of the Junior School came to an end, but this day was an unforgettable experience and a moment that the class will never forget.  Ilia, Year 6
