We were thrilled to share the fantastic journey our Year 1 girls embarked on as they dove into the wild and wonderful world of animals. Over the past term our classroom transformed into a bustling hub of creativity and learning.
Each student became an author and illustrator, crafting their very own information book about their chosen animal. From the majestic elephants to the tiny hedgehog, the diversity of the animal kingdom was captured within the pages of their colourful creations. These books were not only testament to their hard work but also a treasure trove of fascinating facts!
The girls’ artistic talents shone brightly as they shaped and painted clay models of their animals with impressive detail. But they didn’t stop there! They designed and constructed triorama habitats, providing a three-dimensional peek into the natural homes of their animals. These miniature worlds were a hit, showcasing the girls’ understanding of how animals interact with their environment.
The highlight of our project was the Zoo Exhibition afternoon. The girls, with beaming smiles and brimming confidence, presented their books, clay models, and trioramas to their families. It was a heart-warming sight to see them share their knowledge and answer questions with such enthusiasm.
I am incredibly proud of our Year 1 girls for their hard work and effort on this project. A big thank you to all the parents who came to support their daughters and celebrate their achievements.
Until our next adventure…
