On Wednesday, Year 1 were transported back to Tudor Times when they visited Hampton Court Palace. This exciting trip supported their historical learning on British Kings and Queens, focusing on the reign of Henry VIII. The girls participated in a fascinating workshop where they learned the proper way to greet a queen, investigated replica artifacts to find out more about palace life, and even learned a traditional Tudor dance called ‘the horse’s brawl!’ After the workshop, the girls had the opportunity to explore the palace grounds. They saw the palace’s chocolate rooms, the Chapel Royal, the historic kitchens and Henry VIII’s apartments. We even ventured into the palace maze, from which everyone thankfully emerged! It was a fun-filled day of learning and exploration. A big thank you to our parent volunteers for accompanying us on this trip.
