Year 1 have been learning about the monarchy in history. We thought there is no better way to bring their learning to life than to dress as a queen for the day! The girls started the day by seeing their classroom transformed into a royal dining hall. Each ‘distinguished and royal guest’ had a placemat to design their own royal dinner plate. We then took our crowns and jewels into the Senior Hall for a fantastic interactive history workshop! The workshop leader taught us all about the monarchy and key royal artefacts. We even became the royal artefacts by acting them out, as if we were in a museum! From the workshop we returned to the classroom where a royal feast (fit for a queen!) was waiting for us. An array of all sorts of food was gloriously laid out for the girls to enjoy. A truly magical day was had by all.
