On Wednesday, girls in Years 4, Year 5 and Year 6 became teachers of Spanish in front of the whole of KS2 during our Current Affairs Assembly!
These newly-graduated little teachers presented their work and learning about twelve different well-known Spanish festivals. Each Year Group presented four and the girls worked in groups to make their PowerPoint and prepare their oral interventions. Their teamwork skills, I must admit, have not gone unnoticed and that was made very clear when they taught us about their festival. Not only was the information they included relevant and full of cool fun facts to learn, but they also developed their PowerPoint making and public speaking skills. Every single girl should be greatly proud of the hard work carried out in the groups. The teachers in the room were also delighted by this wonderful opportunity to learn about Spanish culture. Now, I am sure that the girls will have some exciting ideas for future family holidays. Please do keep me updated if that happens, because I would LOVE to hear about it! I end with an important piece of parental advice: do not give your daughters any tomatoes at all, as they might throw them back at you and start a tomato fight!
