The girls went on an exciting journey from London to Australia by plane in their drama workshop this week! When they landed, they discovered some of Australia’s native animals including koala bears, kangaroos and a terrifying crocodile! The girls pretended to be swaying trees and tried to get closer to the crocodile, but once the crocodile turned around, they had to stay as still as statues otherwise they would be gobbled up! Luckily, no one got eaten. We danced to music from different countries all over the world and it was wonderful to see so many different cultural styles! We finished the session by using our imagination to put our wishes into Chinese lanterns which we let go and they drifted off into the sky. We all got back onto the plane and arrived safely back in London. What an Adventure for our girls!
Here’s what they had to say about their experience:
“At the drama workshop, we had a boomerang game and also an aeroplane game. Then suddenly we crashed in Iceland! It was a cold, damp experience. We saw a pile of snow which we dug out and found some fuel for the aeroplane to fly to Mexico. We also learnt how to say “Hello” in different languages.”

“This week we went to a drama workshop which was called ‘The King’s Birthday Party’ and it was so much fun. We had to pretend to go to Australia and buy him a present and we also played lots of games. In one of the games you had to pretend you were partying but when the crocodile came, you had to pretend to be a tree so he didn’t see you. My favourite part was when the crocodile got scared of the trees and ran away.”
Emi – Year 2
“My favourite part of the whole workshop was when we played the crocodile game because it was so funny. We travelled to Australia to get a boomerang for the King for his birthday. There was also a lady dressed as a crocodile and we had to camouflage ourselves so the crocodile didn’t notice we were trying to get the boomerang for the King.”
Jamie – Year 2
“In our workshop we had to get King Charles a birthday present but the only thing that he didn’t have was a boomerang so we had to travel to Australia to find one. On the way we had an engine breakdown so we had to get a new engine. In Australia we played lots of games like the swamp game which was so much fun!”
