Years 1 – 6 Admissions

Francis Holland Preparatory School is two-form entry for girls aged 4-11. Our small class sizes of 20 enable us to maintain the level of individual attention for each child and the nurturing and friendly environment for which Francis Holland is renowned. Occasionally there are places available in Years 1 – 6.

Registration Process

For occasional place entry, we suggest you book a place at one of our open mornings where you will have the opportunity to meet the Head, staff and current pupils as well as enjoy a tour of the School.

Registration for entry in Years 1 – 6 in September 2025 is open.

Please note the following key dates:

• Registration deadline for entry in Years 1 – 6 in September 2025 is 12 noon on Friday 7th February 2025.
• Assessments for registered applicants will be held between Wednesday 26th February and Tuesday 4th March 2025.

Once registered, you will be contacted by the School from the December preceding your daughter’s proposed year of entry, to invite her to attend an assessment in February or March.

We invite your daughter for an assessment which includes undertaking some assessments which are compatible with work that is being done in her current year group at Francis Holland Prep. She will also have the opportunity to spend time in that class, taking part in lessons and other activities alongside our current pupils. The session is both an opportunity for us to get to know your daughter but also, importantly, a chance for her to get a feel for our school.

Shortly after your daughter has been assessed, we will be in a position to advise you whether we are able to offer her a place for September.
