4+ Admissions

The key entry point is 4+ (Reception) but from September 2024 we have moved to two-form entry so there may be places available in other year groups. Our small class sizes of 20 enable us to offer your daughter the level of individual attention and the nurturing and friendly environment for which Francis Holland is renowned.

Registration Process

For 4+ entry, we suggest that when your daughter is approaching two years of age, you book a place at one of our open mornings where you will have the opportunity to meet the Head, staff and current pupils as well as enjoy a tour of the School.

The closing date for registration for September 2025 entry is Friday 18th October 2024.

Please note the following key dates:

• 4+ assessments will take place between 13th and 24th January 2025
• Offers will be made by Monday 27th January 2025
• Acceptance deadline is 12 noon on Wednesday 5th February 2025

Registration is open for years up until 2028/29.  

Once you have registered, you will be contacted by the School in the November preceding your daughter’s proposed year of entry, to invite her to attend an assessment in the following January.

Your daughter’s assessment will be a friendly and warm experience giving us an opportunity to observe your daughter in a relaxed environment. The session usually lasts around two hours and includes meeting and playing with our current Year 6 pupils, reading and talking through a book chosen by our teachers and will also give your daughter the opportunity to talk to us about her own object of choice brought from home for ‘show and tell’. Your daughter will be invited according to her date of birth.

Shortly after your daughter has been assessed, we will be in a position to advise you whether we are able to offer her a place starting in September. We look forward to getting to know you and your daughter during the admissions process.
