This week, our Year 1 and Reception pupils set off on an educational journey to the London Water and Steam Museum, where history and science flow together. As they stepped through the doors of this historical treasure, the children’s excitement was palpable, eager to dive into the wonders of water.

The Water Works Gallery was their first stop, a place where engineering marvels of the past meet the inquisitive minds of the present. The students were fascinated by the intricate models and interactive exhibits, which brought the story of London’s water supply to life. With each turn, they discovered new aspects of the water cycle, understanding how every drop of rain plays a part in our daily lives.

But what is learning without a little fun? The adventure continued outside in the splash zone, where giggles and laughter echoed as the children explored water’s playful side. They splashed, they played, turned, twisted, pushed and pulled, and most importantly, they learned through experience. It was a great fusion of education and enjoyment, leaving them drenched in knowledge and memories.

As we returned to school, the chatter was all about the day’s discoveries. It was clear that the visit to the London Water and Steam Museum had made a splash, enriching the girls’ understanding of water’s journey and its vital role in our world.
