Early on Thursday morning, Year 4 set off on a very exciting trip to the Houses of Parliament.
First on the agenda was a tour. The girls were shown around Westminster Hall and saw the exact spot where Barack Obama gave a speech. However, the highlight was watching a live debate in the House of Commons. After this, the girls took part in a laws and debating workshop to learn how Bills become laws. The girls had the opportunity to debate a Bill. It was lucky Katia was on hand as our Madam Speaker to bring order to the room! Finally, the girls learnt how MPs can vote by passing through to the Aye and No Lobbies. It was a wonderful and informative trip that certainly inspired the girls to consider a future in politics.
